2024 has been an extraordinary year for Rater, filled with milestones that highlight our commitment to transforming the online dating experience. Nationwide Launch in April
Rater expanded across the United States, bringing our anti-catfishing technology, and exclusive events to a wider audience. (Read the press release here)
Thought Leadership at Global Dating Insights
Our CEO, Nicole Drew, spoke on the Trust and Safety Panel of Experts at the annual GDI New York conference, emphasizing Rater’s role in fostering authenticity and transparency in the dating industry. (GDI Trust and Safety 2024 report featuring Rater)
Trust and Safety Features and Partnerships Launched
Rater launched IDMTrust phone number scammer and bad actor checks for daters during onboarding into the Rater app, adding an extra layer of security. We also proudly partnered with BrightCheck, a leader in trust and safety, to further enhance user security.
Exclusive Real-Life Events
Through our growing Radar by Rater series, we prioritized offline dating, bringing verified singles together in safe, curated environments. We hosted a Mixer in Venice, California in March and a Napa Wine Tasting Event in September. (Check out a trailer from the mixer)
Rater App Glow-up and Website Redesign
We gave Rater a UI/UX glow-up, making our app and website more intuitive and visually captivating. (Check out the new website here)
Leadership Team Growth
In August, we welcomed Lee-Michael Pronko as our Head of Brand and Growth. Lee-Michael brings a wealth of experience from dating apps (previously founded Heartstring) and HeresMe his agency that specializes in video, branding, and strategic growth, positioning Rater for even greater success in 2025.
Induction to Hatchet Ventures
In August, Hatchet Ventures officially brought Rater in as a portfolio company, and with that comes access to its extended family of advisors and resources. (Read the announcement here)
